In a historic election season, pro-life leaders are continuing to advocate for their cause and hope for a hopeful future regardless of recent unfavorable ballot initiatives.
On November 4th, several state ballots pushed the decriminalization of abortion further while denying other protective measures for unborn children. However, this has not deterred the pro-life movement in its fight to protect all life and their faith in gaining new victories in the near future.
An example of this unwavering faith was expressed by Robby Law, a pro-life advocate and executive director of the movement group, Life Center. Law expressed positive outlook that despite the setbacks at the ballot box on November 4th, there was reason to be optimistic. “We have been working hard for a long time to ensure that the right to life of unborn children is protected,” said Law, “and although it has been difficult to see recent enactments that might seem to go against that very principal, I am confident that we can move forward, embrace the pro-life cause, and continue to see victories in the future.”
Law continued by highlighting the pro-life movement for its persistent and numerous advocacy efforts. He spoke particularly of the grassroots field work by which members of the movement have engaged citizens across the nation and motivated them to take a stand for their beliefs.
“We know that our efforts are making an impact,” reiterated Law, “and leading to enough progress that the majority of the country agrees with our goals. We are confident that real change can come through a spirit of collaboration, debate, and mutual respect.”
It is clear that, though much work remains, pro-life leaders remain resolute in their cause and are anticipating vindication in the future. Despite recent ballots that seem to expand access to abortion, the pro-life movement remains hopeful. For those who champion the cause, it is essential to remember that disagreement does not imply disrespect and that easy access to abortion does not mean that it is morally right. The pro-life movement continues to be committed to protecting unborn life.
